⸻ ii : god-modding / powerplaying
Just don't do it. God-modding, or powerplaying, is when you're controlling another person's character without their permission. By imposing your will on their character without their permission, you are gaining godlike or divine powers. Your character is yours to write, and mine is mine. What would be the point in writing otherwise?
Examples include:
Auto-killing / fainting
Becoming instant god-status without any relevance to a backstory or plot.
Unbalanced character in the sense of affecting a roleplay without themselves being affected.
⸻ iii : metagaming
Also don't do this. Metagaming is using out of character knowledge to make in character decisions. In other words, it refers to having an in-game character act on knowledge that the writer has access to, but the character should not.
For clarification, some examples:
Your character making assumptions based on your (the writer’s) knowledge.
Pursuing secrets / maliciously manipulating plots in-character based on your (the writer’s) knowledge of their existence.
Changing your character’s behavior based on your (the writer’s) knowledge.

Please do not spam or harass me over responding to roleplays. I do not mind a casual bump, or reminder, if I haven't replied in over 7 days. Shining Shocking Star.
Volkner is Sinnoh's final road-block before a Trainer can enroll themselves into the Elite Four challenge. He'll rarely be seen waiting inside his gym, especially when there's maintenance to be done around Sunyshore. If a challenger wants a battle, they'll have to take on the everlasting puzzle of finding him.Bromance.
It goes without saying that he and Flint are practically attached at the hip. One cannot exist without the other. Like ketchup and mustard on a burger.

Tall and lanky. And at times, mainly during his lengthy and broody depression episodes, Volkner will appear pale and sickly.Otherwise he normally sports a light tan thanks to frequent visits to either the beach or Sunyshore's Vista Lighthouse.

Logical and pragmatic in the way he thinks and approaches situations, Volkner is still kind, caring, and passionate. However, he is disconnected in the ability to portray his emotions so he often comes off awkward and uncouth.

Volkner grew up battling gangs and Pokémon poachers on the streets of Sunyshore City. He came across Flint and decided to challenge him to a battle, though he lost the match. Volkner challenged Flint sometime later and won, thus igniting an intense rivalry. The two later became friends after battling against the Proprietor in a Tag Battle.
Later when Flint left Sunyshore to pursue his own journey, and eventually became a member of the Sinnoh Elite Four, Volkner assumed the role of Sunyshore City's Gym Leader.

After becoming the Gym Leader, Volkner became more interested in technology and he distanced himself from battling. The obsession led him to design the automated walkways of Sunyshore, the installation of solar panels, and the city's famous Sunyshore Tower.

Volkner is renowned for being electrifying and nicknamed the "Shining Shocking Star of Sunyshore" because of his enthusiasm and technique in battle. He utilizes offense moves as a defensive strategy to counter an opponent's efforts. Volkner aims to attack his opponent's Pokémon at close range to ensure the most damage. He is regarded as bright and intelligent, though he is prone to becoming obsessed with his interests and tires of them when things become predictable.

The blackouts in Sunyshore are technically his fault. He genuinely is trying his best but.. high intelligence, low wisdom.
The only reason there isn't Team Galactic activity in Sunyshore is because he takes it into his own hands and kicks them out. Literally. He keeps tabs on them and picks fights as necessary.

Volkner appreciates intelligence. Even if someone's not as well-read as him, he likes talking things out with them: schematics for new projects, battle strategies, new inventions he'd like to make someday. Listening to him ramble, ask questions, and giving him input if they feel confident. He'll appreciate it no matter what.
When Flint comes by and they have their occasional battles, it's like a totally different version of Volkner. He's energetic and passionate as he comes up with different ways to catch Flint off guard.
